Howdy, y’all! My (nick)name is E.P., and this is my little place on the Web.

Who I Am

I am a 20-something creative living in Music City, USA. I am a photographer at heart, even though I am no longer a full-time employee of a newspaper. I am getting married at the end of October to the man of my dreams. (Say hello, fiancé!) I have owned and lived with a black and white ball of fur and energy for the past two years. Her name is Lucy Belle, and she is fantastic.

I like to laugh. A lot. I carry my camera with me at ALL TIMES. I hate when people don’t pick up their phones and/or call back. I am really good with directions. And, as my mother puts it, I have a sharp tongue.

Oh, and I have stylish handwriting. Well, at least according to a professor.

What I Do

By day, I work in technology. By night and weekend, you’ll find me with a camera in my hands. I freelance for newspapers, other media outlets, and I assist local photographers for weddings and shoots. I shoot weddings for friends and strangers. And I love every moment of it.

My passion in photography lies with documenting life as it is. Sometime in the near future, I want to embark upon a long-term photography story to document something — anything — and then figure out how I publish it. The trick? Finding a story I am passionate about, having the time and letting the story tell itself.

The Nickname

Apparently, an old co-worker was too lazy to actually say my name even though saying my name? Is not challenging. The nickname stuck, and even though everyone who once called me that graduated and moved to different cities, new people call me “E.P” all the time, including a boss. Weird? A little, but that’s my life.

I respond to “E.P.,” as well as other variations on my name, so no worries about me being confused about it. Really. This is what I have answered to for the past five years.

Loves

Lazy evenings with my fiancé, and my pup, Lucy Belle. Trying new recipes. Learning how to make anything/everything from scratch. Spending time with my friends and family. Daydreaming about projects I want to start. Fresh fruit in the summertime. Running outdoors with my pup. Challenging myself. A strong cup of coffee OR and iced latte in the summer/cappuccino in the winter. Handwriting notes to friends and family members. Being adventurous.
