Not amused

by E.P. on November 5, 2009

First off, I want to apologize for being such an emo kid this week. Y’all know I am normally not like this, but for whatever reason, this week has laughed at me, knocked me down and then kicked me in the shins for good measure. We all have weeks like this, but for whatever reason, I’m really, really struggling.

Three hours separate me from the weekend, and I cannot be more ready to run from this little town to home, where we will be spending the weekend on wedding planning! (Jazz fingers and sparkles!) I cannot wait. And I have a good feeling about the planning and sight seeing that will happen this weekend.

Has this week been rough for you, too? What are your weekend plans?

I hope you have a wonderful weekend wedding planning. I feel like a professional friend-of-the-bride and even have folders on my computer for each of their weddings with ideas I find. Maybe once you hint some ideas about what you're wanting, etc., I will make YOU a folder and whenever I see an idea you might like, I can right click to save and send it along :)

I have had an unproductive week, so right now I am forcing myself to do lots of work. . . which means I have to stop looking at blogs.

I hope this weekend cheers you up and leads to a much better week next week!

I read awhile back that the planet alignment through October was shitty (Saturn was in some crazy house and it was conflicting with some zodiac…) and it was going to take awhile for all that energy to calm down, but things were supposed to get better for the entire world soon.

We'll see, huh?

I'm so sorry this week has been crappy for you. hug.

kylaroma November 6, 2009 at 6:50 am

Oh sweetie, please, you were covering the FUNERALS of young people this week. Give yourself a break, you should have an emotional response to that- you're not emo, you're the girl we all love who is in touch with the reality of the lives she's documenting.

Have a bubble bath, hug your puppy, and I hope you start to feel better soon =)

Ben November 6, 2009 at 7:03 am

Ew. This week compared to the past few just felt so uninspired. It wasn't bad…it was just beyond 'meh'.

kimwithak November 6, 2009 at 7:54 am

Have a good time wedding planning!
My week hasn't been rough, but my month has. I just feel like I want a fresh start.

erin November 6, 2009 at 10:39 am

i had a bad week too…but i'm starting to believe that its getting slightly better. i have huge hope for the weekends.
i really hope you have a wonderful weekend and this weeks stress disappears!
enjoy your wedding planning!

It is okay to be an emo kid. I do it all the time! By my calculations, you are full on into your weekend now, so enjoy. Jazz hands!

Just Fine Just Dandy November 6, 2009 at 12:26 pm

Have a fantastic weekend with your man and planning your wedding day!

This week hasn't exactly been as bad as your week, but it hasn't been my greatest week. I'm wating to start my new job and so I've had a lot of free time. And my guy re-started his job that for the most part takes him out of town Mon-Fri. So I've missed him…. (wa, wa, wa)

kendall_A November 6, 2009 at 2:23 pm

I must admit wedding are pretty fun, although the closest I've ever come to planning one was helping to cater and that was bad enough. More power to you.

I contracted Swine Flu so I suppose this qualifies as a rough week.

Have a great weekend.

nicoleantoinette November 6, 2009 at 7:35 pm

You know, I have had some roughness this week, but I'm spending the weekend in DC and then heading to AZ on Monday to see my parents, so I'm thinking it's all going to be fine.

Big hugs lady :)

Susan November 7, 2009 at 8:35 am

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend planning!

Andhari Sidharta November 7, 2009 at 6:09 pm

I'm with you on feeling tired and restless, all week actually but hope with weekend approaching all of us can feel better and relaxed again :)

Erin November 8, 2009 at 8:08 am

This week has sucked for me too. I'm so stressed out about my dad being sick, work stuff, and whether or not I'm pregnant that I can barely see straight. It sucks!

Hope your weekend has been lovely and recouperating!

shobhna November 8, 2009 at 10:29 am

Argh, it sucks to say this but I'm glad I'm not the only one who had a week from hell. Things were just absolutely terrible for me, too. Dealing with major withdrawal from the boy who screwed me over (imaginative, but true), dealing with annoying, inconsiderate, uncooperative classmates, while trying to juggle too much work on the Yearbook, in class, and for prep for next year. And having dream after dream after dream of my parents, and my sister, and my home. And wanting to be there for my birthday (in about a week's time) but knowing that I can't because of how much work I've got to do (never have I wished harder that home was closer to college than it is. 22 hours= not feasible).

Yeah, the week was awful. I made it up this weekend somewhat though by having a relaxing Saturday with friends, including a very productive and fun Yearbook design team meeting. And today I went natural rock climbing for the first time in my entire life and was actually scale a rock and a half! :) Not much, but I'm so proud of myself.

I'm really sorry you had a shitty week, and I hope the weekend at home makes up for it (can you feel me being jealous three continents apart? :P ). Wedding plans! I'm sure you're going to have so much fun. Do you know if you're going to have it back home?

*hugs*

shobhna November 8, 2009 at 10:30 am

I second all of that. :)

Jessica November 8, 2009 at 7:43 pm

OMG I cannot wait to hear ALL ABOUT the wedding planning, especially with jazz hands!

Elizabeth November 9, 2009 at 10:21 pm

I would love a do-over of the last few months, but since I can't have it, I am contenting myself with lenses and other fun things.

I can't wait to see you and you can talk it ALLLLL out. Seriously.

E.P. November 10, 2009 at 12:44 pm

Thanks so much! It really was a good weekend. We didn't decide upon anything, BUT we did get a better idea of places we like and place we don't like. And our vision. So that's good. And yes, please make a folder! That's so fun! I love it!

I hope you got a lot of work done Friday and that you had a lovely weekend, as well!

E.P. November 10, 2009 at 12:45 pm

I guess we will. That's ridiculous. And could potentially explain why so many people have been having a tough time recently.

The good thing is this past weekend was wonderful and my week is pretty OK, too. It'd be better if I weren't sick today, but c'est la vie…

E.P. November 10, 2009 at 12:46 pm

Thanks so much, lovely! There's a LOT more that happened after the funerals that I have yet to write about, but that made it even worse. The good thing is this weekend was wonderful. And I'm feeling a lot better about life now, even though I'm home sick today.

E.P. November 10, 2009 at 12:48 pm

Here's to hoping this new week is a lot better and way more inspired!

E.P. November 10, 2009 at 12:48 pm

Major hugs, lady. Thank you!

E.P. November 10, 2009 at 12:49 pm

Thanks so much! I hope this weekend was a good one for you, as well, and that you've got your fresh start now.

E.P. November 10, 2009 at 12:50 pm

Thanks so much! I hope you had a lovely weekend, too!

Did you do anything exciting?

E.P. November 10, 2009 at 12:52 pm

Thanks so much! I enjoyed my weekend, and i hope you enjoyed yours, too.

And you aren't emo all the time! I'm learning that it's OK to show weakness. Which has always been a tough thing for me to embrace, especially when I'm having the week from hell because I want to be upbeat. Sometimes, it's so hard to be upbeat, though…

E.P. November 10, 2009 at 12:54 pm

Thanks so much! It really was a fantastic weekend, and we figured out a lot of things we want, even if we didn't figure out where we want to host the wedding or what date. ;) We'll figure it out eventually.

When do you start your new job? And was it a wonderful weekend for you and your guy since y'all didn't get to see each other last week?

E.P. November 10, 2009 at 12:55 pm

I cannot even imagine helping cater a wedding. That had to be nuts!

I hope you're feeling better. I am sick today, and I hope it's not the start of the flu. :/

E.P. November 10, 2009 at 12:56 pm

Thanks, lady. I think we all had some roughness this past week. I cannot wait to hear about your DC adventures, then the AZ ones. You are going to have a fantastic time!

E.P. November 10, 2009 at 12:56 pm

Thanks so much! While we didn't decide anything, we have a better idea of what we want. (:

E.P. November 10, 2009 at 12:57 pm

I know that the weekend was relaxing and wonderful for me. I hope it was the same for you and that this new week has gotten off to a good start!

E.P. November 10, 2009 at 1:00 pm

That really does suck, and I hope things are better for you this week. I feel like we all have so many things to worry about and fret about. It's not fun at all.

I hope you had a good weekend, too!

E.P. November 10, 2009 at 1:03 pm

Gosh. Your week last week sounds absolutely miserable. :/ I'm so sorry, and I wish I lived closer so I could give you a big hug. (Question: Where exactly are you in relation to your family? Because I had NO IDEA y'all were so far apart.)

I'm happy that you had a good weekend, though! That's awesome about being able to scale a rock and a half! I cannot even imagine, and that sounds amazing. PLEASE tell me you took photos!

Yes, we're having the wedding back home, so I made the 5.5 hours drive back Friday afternoon. (Nothing like your 22 hour distance. Sadness. :/) It was a good weekend, even though we didn't figure out any specifics. We have a better idea of what we want, and we're moving forward from there. It's really exciting, and I cannot wait to start getting into the details after we book a place!

E.P. November 10, 2009 at 1:03 pm

Thanks! I cannot wait to start writing about the wedding planning. Unfortunately, we haven't gotten anything done just yet, so I won't be writing about it yet, but I will hopefully soon!

E.P. November 10, 2009 at 1:04 pm

I would love a do-over, too, but that's awesome about lenses and other fun things for you. I wish I could purchase myself a new lens (300mm 2.8, please) or a new body, but alas…

I cannot wait to see you, either! Not too much longer!

walkingonsunshine18 November 11, 2009 at 10:50 am

We've all been there – not fun. Hopefully you're feeling better soon xo

E.P. November 11, 2009 at 12:24 pm

It's definitely not fun, but this week is SO much better than the last.

Nora_L November 11, 2009 at 7:41 pm

Oh, I miss talking to you. I want to hear all about the wedding planning! Feel totally out of the loop!!! I wish we lived closer so I could throw parties for you =) I hope this week has been better for you so far!

E.P. November 11, 2009 at 7:59 pm

I miss talking to you, too! And we will definitely catch up.

I don't have much to say about wedding planning stuff simply because we
haven't planned anything yet. ;) But we DO know some things we want and
other things we don't want, so that's good.

This week has been awesome in comparison to last week. I miss you, lady!
Let's catch up soon!

Walter November 11, 2009 at 9:43 pm

As you said, we all have rough times once in a while. After all, life would have no spice if all is smooth. :-)

E.P. November 12, 2009 at 3:09 pm

You've got a fantastic point there. That's something to remember,
especially during the tough times!
