So, as last Sunday’s post mentioned, there have been A LOT of changes in my life in a short amount of time.
Good changes.
Crazy changes.
Exciting, I-don’t-know-what-to-do-with-myself except have a wide, goofy smile on my face changes.
I’m still floored and exhilarated and giggly about the fact that we are engaged. I get chill bumps when I look down at my left hand to find the beautiful ring my boy had made specially for me. And I can’t help but grin when I think about last Saturday night.
I didn’t expect the proposal AT ALL, even though he and I had spoken many times about getting married, living life to the fullest and holding hands as we set foot on a new adventure. The more I think back to it, the more I should have figured there was something going on, but I didn’t put two and two together until after the fact. And I am totally OK with that because the proposal was perfect and the BEST surprise I could have ever asked for.
We are getting married! I will have a husband, and I will be a wife. In a little more than a year, I will become Mrs. E.P.S. (Weird! But cool!)
We don’t have a date yet. We don’t have a church or reception site yet. We don’t have much planned, other than we are going to be walking down the aisle sometime next winter or early spring. But I’m starting to do my research and am putting those wedding blogs I have been reading for wedding photography ideas to good use now.
I cannot help but think how lucky I am. And I cannot help but giggle (just a little!) when I say I have a fiancé.
Wedding planning: Let’s go!

I'm E.P. I have stylish handwriting. I enjoy a nice cappuccino in the morning. And I am fascinated with capturing life as it is.

Thank you so much!
Aww, Katelin! Thank you!
It's still so weird to be engaged. I get distracted by my hand.
And it makes me happy that you've gotten started on the planning, and it is glorious! I hope mine goes so smoothly!
Yay! Thank you! And agreed: To a fun future!
Woohoo! Thanks, Renee! There haven't been any flip outs just yet, but I'm sure there will be one or two in the future…
I've told my boy and family that the only bridezilla tendency I will have will be about the photography. That's it. And I figure we'll figure out what to do with that somewhere along the line.
Thanks so much! It's been a lot of fun looking at wedding magazines (specifically dresses in them) and thinking about what we want. I think it'll be fun, too!
Thanks so much! The planning hasn't gotten into full swing just yet simply because we're having the wedding in my hometown, and I work weekends this month. :/ So next month, we are driving to Memphis to check venues out, then the real planning will begin after that.
And the proposal? Thinking about it still makes me giggly. I was and still am so surprised. But apparently, I was the only one surprised. All our family members were like, “FINALLY!”
Thank you so much, Kyla! It really is amazing! I still cannot believe it. And yay for dancing!
Thanks so much, name twin!
Ooh. Good to know! I forgot about that. It's a shame you aren't based in my hometown, though.
I'm glad we became friends last year, too! Hope you're having a good day!
Thanks so much, Ashley!
I definitely will! Thanks so much, Nora! You're too sweet, and it makes me so excited that my friends here are celebrating this good news along with me. Love it. And we need to catch up ASAP.
Aww, thanks so much, Andrea!
Thank you so much!
Aww, thank you! It's a celebration! And I need to post some better photos of the ring. The one we put on the engagement post isn't cutting it..
Thank you so much, Nilsa! It's so funny that you knew your ring was coming sometime soon and maybe threw a tantrum the day of. If nothing else, it makes an amusing story.
I feel like I'm in a lull right now before the actual planning begins because I need to go home to look at venues. So for the rest of the month, I'll be doing those things a newly engaged person is supposed to do. And continue them as the planning gets into full swing. (:
Aww, that's so sweet! Thank you so much!
Thanks so much, Nicole!
Aww, yay! Thank you so much! And pssh, you can't be more excited than you probably should be. This is an exciting time!
Aww, thank you so much! I look forward to starting the wedding planning and hashing out all the details. I've been reading wedding blogs for the past six-ish months to get an idea as to how I need to photograph weddings, and now, I can capitalize on them!
Yay! Shobhna! Thank you so much! Isn't this just CRAZY?
(: I think it's the way it is supposed to be, too. I hope it doesn't get old. And I hope you feel the same thing when you get engaged. Because it's ridiculous!
Thanks so much, Akirah!
Thanks, Becky! I definitely will keep y'all informed on the adventures and missteps of wedding planning!
Aww, Doni! Thank you! It really is so, so fantastic! And we will definitely be chatting wedding blogs and other things (maybe Memphis things?) in the upcoming weeks! Yay!
I just burbled and squeaked all over my computer. I've had my head so far up my own tush I haven't been reading any other blogs. I wish the two of you all the love and trust and faith and happiness I can possibly muster. xoxoxo
I'm glad you stopped by, Andrea! Thanks so much! It's such an exciting time!
I can't wait to hear about your plans as they unfold!
Thanks so much! I cannot wait to hear about yours, too!
CONGRATULATIONS THAT IS AWESOME!
Thanks so much!
Thanks so much!
