On that lifestyle change…

by E.P. on September 1, 2009

Remember that time I recommitted to a lifestyle change after sucking it up for half the year?

Well, I made a HUGE step forward tonight.

Lucy and I went on a run through our old neighborhood. And at the end of it, I didn’t want to die or pass out. In fact, I felt a little refreshed.

That’s HUGE, folks!

As someone who has hated running ever since she started playing basketball competitively, I was amazed that my knees weren’t killing me, that the dog wasn’t dragging my slow butt down the street and that I didn’t stop after a block. In fact, I ran for most of the time.

Here’s to hoping I can start tomorrow off right with an early morning run before work. And maybe take a nice leisurely walk after work with the Belle puppy…

  • Good for you! I'm just awful about committing to anything like that!
  • Pam
Congrats!! Hopefully I can do that one day.
  • WOOHOO!
  • Congrats on the run! You rock and inspire me to get out there and run too. I bet Lucy is loving the exercise too.

Congrats on getting out there!! Keep it up!
  • Woohoo!!! I've totally fallen off the running wagon, and I can't seem to get back on it now!
  • Running is one of my favorite things ever. Once I get past the "I hate my lungs for hating me" moment, it's smooth sailing.
  • Great first step, now you have to keep up the momentum. That's the tough part!

yay congrats! i like running with scooby, one day he's going to turn and i'm going to trip over him though hehe
  • Congrats on just getting out there. What I have learned lately is it matters not how fast you go, nor how far you go, but getting out there, moving your body and breathing that air into your blood is what counts!
  • Yea! That's an awesomely big step forward. Yea!
  • Congrats! With how hard it is to get back into running, I always kick myself for so often pushing it to the back burner. It feels great to just get out there and go.
  • Yes! I've recently started working out again too and I'm still in the KILL ME RIGHT NOW phase, but hoping I'll get past it soon, haha.
  • I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. I have been avoiding running for months, but I know it must be done. I'm thinking that I will try tomorrow. Today I procrastinated because I didn't have headphones. But no more excuses. My fat butt can't take any more excuses.
