In transit

by E.P. on August 19, 2009

A lot has happened since I last posted here.

I went to a wedding in Indiana. It was amazing. The weekend was full of love, and I want to get married. (Duh.)

I spent days and nights at work, but things have not been crazy recently. I’m taking solace in the calm before the storm. Football season starts TOMORROW. (Insert crazy face and screams and pompoms and dancing mascots here.) Consequently, my life will become more hectic.

I visited my boyfriend and his family in Louisiana this weekend. (My weekend — Sunday night to Tuesday morning.) I don’t know if I’ve said it here before, but I absolutely ADORE his family (and him, too!) Lucy came along for the ride this time, and she made things interesting by barking at the boy’s mother whenever she saw her and terrorizing small animals in the backyard. All in all, it was a good time. And I kind of want to go back now.

Living arrangements fell through, and I’m currently moving my belongings into a little bungalow in an older neighborhood in my town. We spent until MIDNIGHT last night to get most all of my furniture into the home. There’s more left at the old apartment, though, and I wonder how I will fit it all in here. But I can already tell I’m going to love this place, even if there isn’t a washer or dryer or a dishwasher.

So I’m moving forward, friends. Slowly and surely. I’m in transit (and fighting with the wireless Comcast Internet that just doesn’t want to work for me.) So bear with me while I straighten everything out. I shouldn’t take too long.

What’s new with you?

  • ugh! moving is stressful! not much here, just got back from first ever camping weekend though. quite the experience. posted pics on facebook!
  • I'm in that zen place that only happens after a vacation. Where you're kind of floating through your days, still riding the high that was your time away.

I love the idea of a little bungalow. Should Sweets and I ever buy our own place, we will likely lean towards that style!

Just catching up on a very, very outdated blog reader. (I'm a month behind). The summer has been super busy - but I just read about your friend, and I wanted to say that I'm super, super sorry. It's a little late, but I thought it was better than never. I lost a friend about three years ago to suicide, and it's so hard to understand and comprehend. I know it wasn't sure what happened on the roof, but I imagine it was equally hard either way to lose a friend. I'm so sorry E.P!
Take care and good luck in your transition!
  • i miss you!

  • Weddings will certainly give you the bug :) Glad you had a good time and good luck with the move.
