Suggestions…

by E.P. on May 26, 2009

I was planning to write about the boy’s and my California trip earlier today.

That was before something happened. Something I shouldn’t get too excited about, but is exciting nonetheless. Something I’m not going to go into detail about for fear that I jinx myself. Something that potentially could not work out at all. But there may be an amazing opportunity during the week of our trip, and we both would hate for me to miss it because we are on the other side of the continent.

Our plans have changed, but we don’t know what they will lead us just yet. That’s why I want to chat with y’all about this.

We need to stay somewhere relatively close to MS/LA/TN for fear we have to leave at a moment’s notice (or wait to solidify plans until I hear more information.) We want to explore a new place neither of us has experienced. Or really experience some place we’ve both been but have never appreciated.

So, dear friends, what do you suggest?

  • Chattanooga is a fun city!!
  • I vote Savannah- I went last year and it was breathtakingly beautiful and a ton of fun. The people couldn't be nicer!
  • Anything in Kentucky catch your fancy? I love Louisville.

Or maybe hole up in Cape Girardeau, MO? Do a winery tour between Cape and the areas in Illinois?

I hope everything works out for you!
  • Ooooh, exciting stuff! I remember loving Dauphin Island as a kid... and I always heard awesome things about Eureka Springs when I lived in AR, though I never actually made it there. Oooh, and I always wanted to stay at The Myrtles in LA--you've probably done that area to death, but that could be kind of a fun getaway!
  • Oh wow i'm in suspense. Thanks for giving us a cliff hanger :)

As for suggestions - how about North/West Florida? Or driving over to Georgia? I don't know places around there really, but it could be an adventure!
  • I had to read that twice to understand what you were talking about... And unfortunately, I have no suggestions as I've never been to any of those locations.

But I'm dying to know what exactly is going on!!
  • wherever you end up or wherever you go doesn't matter, just go somewhere and make it your own.

    good luck!!
  • I have no knowledge of that part of the country, but am looking forward to hearing what all of this is about!
  • I'm so curious about this! Suspense lady!
  • if i'm thinking what you are thinking, then i will be uber excited (if we're thinking the same thing).
    oh, i'm getting excited now.
even if we aren't thinking the same thing, then this sounds promising!!!!
how about coming to RI or MA?
oh, okay. i know it probably isn't a good idea, but it couldn't hurt to try!
umm, more realistic. what about virginia or georgia somewhere?
  • I'm no hope with suggestions, but I'm crossing my fingers for you that it all works out.
  • Please tell me you're going to be on a reality tv show.
  • I've always wanted to pick a weekend and grab an airline's last minute fares somewhere. Could be a sleepy little city or the big apple. You just never know. But, plans cannot be made until a few days before, so that could be right up your alley!
  • Lily
Savannah, Chattanooga, Huntsville!, mobile, or the gulf side of Fl?!
  • I don't really know that area very well, but I do know that I'm excited to hear about what potentially lies ahead for you!
  • Austin is a day trip from Baton Rouge!

I could show you around too!

Also, Pensacola or Destin wouldn't be too far, would they?
  • Hmmm...how about Eureka Springs in Arkansas? Or maybe that's a bit to far.

BTW, I'll keep my fingers crossed!
  • what about this:
