I’m a big believer in fate – I don’t know why, but I am – and that there’s a purpose and meaning behind so very much in our lives. And it is that belief that led me to love a phrase in The Beatles’ “All You Need is Love” so very much that I had to tattoo it to myself.

I know you’ve seen it before – “There’s nowhere you can be that isn’t where you’re meant to be.” – but it’s true that you just have to soak up the life you have now because there’s likely a reason you’re living it. For me, moving here to NC was the best decision I’ve ever made … and I made it mostly because of a boy. He and I are over now, I’m dating someone else, and I still am so grateful that I’m here today.

I have the Confucius one mounted on the wall above my desk, and it really helps me to put everything in perspective.

Isn’t it great how a) blog friends help and b) simple quotes can help to change our mindsets? I think you’re on to something… we all need to focus more on the here/now rather than the future. It’s hard to do, sometimes, but we can break the cycle.
