Lucy likes to play. A lot.
She likes to play alone. She likes to play with other dogs. She plays outside. She plays inside. She plays at night. She plays in the morning.
… You get the idea.
A few weeks ago, Lucy and I trekked over to another small Mississippi town to visit a college friend who has a 4-year-old Basset Hound. Behold:
Needless to say, Mac and Lucy Belle hit it off. And they enjoyed playing (loudly) around 6 a.m. (FYI, this was after a night of bar-hopping where we ended up back at home around 3 a.m.)
And while the doggy wake up call wasn’t exactly what I wanted for that morning, it was too funny watching them play together.
My pup has a friend!

I'm E.P. I have stylish handwriting. I enjoy a nice cappuccino in the morning. And I am fascinated with capturing life as it is.

Bassett hounds are hilarious nonstop!
Also nonstop? That sort of play when you have two dogs.
It’s like Mortal Kombat non stop in the living room! Only less bloody and way cuter! Awesome.
Look at them go! How fun
They’re so cute!! I feel like a real mom everytime I find a buddy for Penny too. She gets so happy (plus it’s a good work-out for her)
*And yes, I have bought twice from that store online I mentioned in my blog (http://melissaisblogging.blogspot.com/2008/10/online-treasures-cutesygirl.html) It’s pretty cool! Just be careful on really strong colors… (I ordered some nice kind of purplish shoes but in real life they were bright pink! – like a highlighter pen… too much for me so I returned it and it was all good.
Enjoy your shopping!!
awe… so cute…. i love dogs! and Luch us just soooo cute!
Aren’t they just so cute! I LOVE Lucy’s colors. She’s like the exact opposite of the Dylanator.
So cute…you make me miss having a dog around. One day soon, I WILL live somewhere that allows dogs!
dogs are the best
That is cute!! I think it’s so funny when my cats play like that together!
They are absolutely adorable!
I can imagine they would have been just as adorable at a more reasonable hour! Especially after a long night out!
Based off the title of this video, I thought you were putting those dogs in the fighting ring.
I was going to call you Mike Vik.
I’m glad I was mistaken.
There’re few greater pleasures in life than seeing two doggy souls hit it off.
Looks like they were having a brilliant time!
This is what Edie and Winston do ALLLLL day. It’s hilarious!
Awwww. Rufus’ best friend, Charlie, is a basset hound!
absolute cuteness!
