The weekend has come and gone, but since not much is going on with me today, I thought I would fill y’all in on what the boy, Lucy and I did this weekend.
Friday
- The boy arrived in town around 6 p.m. (after a flat tire in BR).
- He met Lucy, who was very wary about him. She enjoyed barking at him when he wasn’t sitting down or near the ground with her. But she eventually warmed up to him.
- We went on a long walk with the pup, who started getting used to the boy.
- Once back from the walk, we made our dinner: skinny sweet and sour chicken with veggie fried rice. Yum!
- After dinner, we spent two hours watching episodes from The Tudors: Season 1, which he brought with him as a gift. (The show is AWESOME!)
Saturday
- We woke up around 9 a.m. and hung around the apartment for the morning, eating breakfast and watching more of The Tudors.
- We ate the leftovers from dinner for lunch.
- We gave Lucy her lunch and took her for a walk.
- We turned back from said walk because of the weather.
- Back at the apartment, I made the cheesecake bites I was planning on making for Friday evening (but never got around to.)
- We spent the afternoon inside my apartment lounging on the couch and watching old LSU football games that came on one of the channels. Lucy rested with us.
- Instead of going to dinner (like we had originally planned), we decided to order pizza since the weather was gross.
- After scarfing down dinner, we both showered and got ready for an evening at the movies.
- We headed to the movie theatre around 6:55 so we could purchase tickets for the 7:20 showing of The Dark Knight. It was sold out, so the boy got us tickets for the 8:15 showing.
- Instead of going home, we decided to spend time at the bar of a seedy Mexican restaurant. Unbeknownst to us, it was HAPPY HOUR! And instead of him just getting one beer and me getting one margarita, we both received two. (Let me remind you here that I’m a lightweight.)
- After thirty minutes at the restaurant, we headed back to the theatre. I was a little buzzed from the ‘ritas.
- The movie was INCREDIBLE!
Sunday
- It was another lazy morning, and I was given Cheerios in bed. Aww.
- We took Lucy for a morning walk so she could let out some energy. We spent about an hour to an hour and a half walking around the neighborhood near my apartment.
- After the walk, we both showered and headed out to this place called The Spicy Pickle for lunch, which was delish.
- After filling our bellies and watching random dog agility on TV at the restaurant, we made our way to a few stores to run errands and pick up groceries.
- We came home to watch another Tudors episode before the boy left.
- The boy left me and Lucy around 6 p.m., and she and I heated up dinner while he was on the road back home.
All in all, it was a good weekend. I wish my boy could have been in town for longer, but it was wonderful actually getting to see him.
And, because I don’t have much else to say and because we took a lot of pictures this weekend, I’ll leave you with my Lucy:

I'm E.P. I have stylish handwriting. I enjoy a nice cappuccino in the morning. And I am fascinated with capturing life as it is.
